Official Announcement: Children’s Shadow Pradeshiya Sabha Elections 2025

The Social Architects (TSA) is pleased to announce that elections for the Children’s Shadow Pradeshiya Sabhas (CSPS) will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in all active CSPS areas across the country in nine districts.

These elections are part of TSA’s Sprouts of Democracy initiative, which seeks to nurture active citizenship, civic responsibility, and democratic values among children.

Key Dates:

• Nominations Open: July 9, 2025
• Deadline for Nomination Submission:  July 23, 2025
• Election Date:  August 23, 2025

Who Can Contest?

Children aged 11–15 who are members of local SoDs.

How to Submit Nominations

Nomination forms are available through local SoD coordinators of TSA. All nominations must include:

• Consent from a parent or guardian
• Birth certificates or any other documents to confirm the date of birth.

Why It Matters

As part of the Sprouts of Democracy citizenship program, these elections:

• Promote leadership and civic awareness among children
• Create platforms for youth participation in local governance
• Encourage values of fairness, sustainability, and inclusion
